It is intended for recognised organisational standing, not simply participation or public access. Recognition is tied to formal routes, defined standards, and the responsibilities carried by the organisation within the rights chain.

What recognised status is not
Accredited Organisations is not the same as public access, introductory learning, or simple adoption of CIP language in contracts. Organisational recognition is awarded only where the relevant standards have been met through the formal route.
Governance and accountability
Recognised organisational status sits within a framework governed by Creative Intellectual Property Charity. Oversight includes standards governance, independent audit support where relevant, and mechanisms for renewal and revocation.
